Resize an image for email

Phone photos are often several megabytes each, and email providers cap the total size of attachments (commonly somewhere around 20–25 MB, and lower for some providers). Shrinking the images first keeps your message from bouncing and loads faster for the person receiving it.

A good size for email

Steps

  1. Drop your photos into the tool.
  2. Type 1600 into “Max width/height” and leave quality at 75%.
  3. Press Compress and compare the before and after sizes.
  4. Download each file, or use “Download all”, then attach them to your email.

The longest side of each image is scaled down to the number you typed and the proportions are kept. Images already smaller than that are left at their size.
